BattlEye (Client Side Anti-Cheat)

is developed by Bastian Suter in October 2004 starting out as an external 3rd-party anti-cheat. BattlEye at it's core is a proactive protection system, that way most hacking is completely blocked to begin with. The remaining hacking is covered by an dynamic "on-the-fly" detection system, ensuring that unrelenting cheaters are globally banned.

Penalties after detection

• The account cannot join BE secure servers for the AppIDs they are banned.
• The ban is publicly displayed on their Steam Community profile (game ban).
• The computers hardware can be flagged for cheating.
• The account is flagged for cheating, you can still play the game without noticing you are "shadow banned", but you will be only matched with bots or other cheaters.
